They came, they played - did they conquer? "amazing, brilliant, powerful, fantabulous", are some of the adjectives used to describe this band. Walking around the audience, I watched them in turn chuckle with delight, cry, sit In silent amazement, and cheer! WOW, INSPIRITION certainly deliver what¹s on the can- I left inspired. I wanted to buy their "Truth Telling" album (sadly not yet back from the factory on the day- I've been told I can purchase one at the forthcoming Barrelhouse Blues Orchestra memorial concert on May 25th) More to the point, I wanted to play all of their songs all over again, I wanted to learn all of their lyrics, I wanted to immerse myself in their sound,I couldn't believe it really. What are they doing playing to a small audience in Dorset? Get real! These guys should be strutting their awesome stuff across the globe. Make sure you get a chance to see them before they do. I assure you, there is a big bright future ahead for INSPIRITION. Isabel told me they love to hear your comments - I left one on their Youtube site. You will find twelve year-olds pressed to the screen - this seems to be an ageless representation of beauty. Kate Bush, Enya, Pink, Josh Groban, Sheila Jordan - all of whom spring to mind when thinking of Isabel's voice, yet she has something somehow different- I can't describe it other than saying I felt changed. As the conclusion to a night of juvenile indie rock, Inspirition provided the perfect antidote with their craft of beautifully woven songs of soothing operatic magnitude. The moment Isabel took to the stage in her strikingly beautiful green evening dress, reminiscent of a night at the opera in the stylish thirties, the audience was spellbound, listening to her classically flawless voice, embued with a passion that must come from heartfelt experience. Tonight Isabel was accompanied by Gren Fraser only (usually they perform as a five-piece) but it proved to just the right measure for the intimate settings of the hope and anchor and together they created touching soundsculptures of emotional beauty. review by Klaus von Kirsche
