Clive Ashley - Saxophone

After an apprenticeship on the road with some of the best Blues, Jazz and and Soul musicians around, it was time for something different. During three years at Dartington College of Arts Clive studied and played with American composer James Tenney and international improviser Paul Dunmall graduating with a BA(hons) in Arts Management and Music.
He is regularly seen adding his exuberant and passionate sound to gigs with key shattering boogie woogie pianist Ben Waters with whom he has toured the UK, Germany, France, Holland, and Canada.
He has also composed, played and toured with contemporary dance companies Drop of a Hat and Attic Dance as well as recording live sessions for BBC radios 3 and 2.
His real talent is his ability to maintain his very unique and personal sound in any genre.
In recent years Clive has performed with various artists including , Barrelhouse Blues Orchestra, Andy Sheppard Jools Hollands Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, Robbie Macintosh, Victor Brox, Bernie Marsden, Billy Bragg and Lulu.
