Andy Lawrence - Bass
Yes, I am a Jimmy Hendrix fan - he played good music and I want to play good music. At home we had good music playing the whole time although none of the family were
particularly musical themselves - my Mum is learning the Saxaophone now though!,
My first band was a covers and and lasted for six months. We played the George Robey Club in Finsbury Park several times. If I feel the sound is right, then I will play it. Heavy metal, Iron
maiden and Guns and Roses-Steve Harris style bass are no strangers to me.
What concerns me is that I wake up happy. I’m not pushey about life, never had a career plan or big aspirations. I do support the best Football team (the glovers- Yeovil is famous for its
glove manufacturing) though, Yeovil, and if there is one thing I could still do in life it would be to play for them.i had to give up playing football in order to be able to watch the matches! I
never miss a game, its my home team. I’m a die hard and I love football (and I’m still sensitive about the one nil loss to Bournemouth).
I love women, especially when they are naked like in the Playboy 50th anniversary issue! I’ve always had more women friends than blokes. You could call me more intuitive, less analytical
perhaps that’s why I’ve had more female friends.
I’ve recently been awarded a grant from the Princes Trust. Teaching is great.
(ED. Andy, you always seem to be in the right place at the right time, gelling the group with your insights and inputs, which enrich the band. You’re not afraid to express your opinions,
which are always really welcome.)
